This is just to say

I have dreamed

The stars

That were

The light

And which

You were probably

saving

For guidance

Forgive me

They were my strength

They were my hope

So high

So close

...Angelica Flores

This is just to say
I have tainted
the clothes
that were in

the washer

and which
you were probably
saving
for another day

Forgive me
they were clean
so pure
and so white

...Christina Zuniga

This is just to say

I have taken

the flowers

that were on

the cabinet

and which

you were probably

saving

for the funeral.

Forgive me

they were beautiful

so soft

and so fragrant

...Laura O’Hagan

Shoes

This is just to say

I have boiled

the shoe

that was on

the doorstep

and which

you were probably

saving

for yourself

Forgive me

it was dirty

so alone

and so scared

...Naila Khan

This is just to say

I have ridden

The horse

That was in

The garden

And which

You were probably

Saving

For going hunting

Forgive me

He was Arabian

So beautiful

And so elegant

...Liz Licea

This is just to say

I have perused

the titles

that were in

the bookstore

and which

you were probably

saving

for summer

Forgive me

they were lovely

so handsome

and so inviting.

...Alyssa Capili

This is just to say

I have filled

the seat

that was in

the office

and which

you were probably

saving

for your future

Forgive me

it was necessary

so regrettable

and so easy

...Jason Tse

This is just to say

I have taken

the ring

that was on

the dresser

and which you were probably

saving

for her

forgive me

it was gleaming

so smooth

and so beautiful

...Julia Le

This is just to say

I have defended

the boy

That was in

the open arms

and which

you were probably

saving

forever

Forgive me

it was accidental

so passionate

and so guilty

...Gabrielle Arroyo
